Amy was an elected School Board Trustee until her resignation to run for the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 2018.  In her former role, Amy carried out all of her campaign promises — including being a passionate advocate for students with special needs and increasing the board’s communication and inclusivity in the community.

Amy is also the former Board Chair for Bridges To Belonging Waterloo Region, an organization supporting people with disabilities by helping them to plan the life THEY want in our community.

Prior to running for public office, Amy worked as a broadcast news anchor and sports reporter in Toronto, Vancouver, Saskatoon and Regina.

Amy and her husband Craig have resided in Kitchener’s Doon neighbourhood for almost a decade along with their four kids and two Black Labs, “Ivy” and “Rickman.”
